Hima Seafood is building the world’s largest land‑based trout production facility at Rjukan. The plant will produce around 8,000 tonnes of trout per year, based on modern RAS technology, which recycles nearly all water, making the production both energy‑efficient and sustainable. The facility, which extends more than 300 metres, brings the entire value chain together, from hatchery to slaughter, and represents one of the region’s most significant industrial investments.

To ensure sufficient wastewater capacity for both the HIMA Seafood facility and a future municipal treatment plant, a new and extensive pipeline system is being constructed from Svadde to Lake Tinnsjøen.
The works include a new discharge pipeline (wastewater pipeline), three planned complete pumping stations, and an associated section of subsea pipeline. The pipeline runs from the factory area along the Måna River and further out into Lake Tinnsjøen, with a total length of approximately 12 kilometres. Along parts of the alignment, a new municipal water and wastewater network is also being established.
The entire project is being delivered within a 12‑month construction period, including both design and execution.
